Mr Clifford has successfully brought these leading edge technologies and ventures to the market place.
Ian Cunningham
Senior Software Engineer - IBM
Ian has worked in a number of roles in the IT industry over the last 25 years, management, lecturing, development, and is currently a Senior Software Engineer at IBM. He is interested in software development and engineering. Being a member of the Curtin Industry Advisory panel provides a way of ensuring the Curtin degrees contain subjects and content relevant to current requirements and address the current shortage of quality graduates.
Julien Flack
Chief Technology Officer - Dynamic Digital Depth
After graduating from the Curtin Computer Science department I took up a position with the CSIRO working on data analysis and visualization within the Exploration and Mining division. I am now the Chief Technology Officer of DDD and a director of the company's two Australian subsidiaries. In this role I am responsible for setting strategic technical objectives, managing a development team to meet those objectives as well as managing the company's intellectual property (patents).

After graduating from Curtin with First Class Honours and a PhD in Computer Science, I walked straight into my dream job developing software for a startup company. That company gave me the opportunity to work on a number of interesting projects, travel internationally, and develop my professional skills. I am now a respected software engineer with an international reputation.
Nick Lewins
PhD (Computer Science) - BankWest
Dr Nick Lewins has a PhD in computer science & IT, and 15 years experience in the commercial sector. Focusing on the defence, government and banking sectors, Dr Lewins has taken a lead role in designing the IT solution for numerous major projects, most recently BankWest's internet banking system and BankWest's expansion into the eastern states.
Brett Looney
Chief Technical Officer - L7
Brett has been involved within the IT& T market sector for the past 22 years. After working as a systems analyst/programmer he joined Dimension Data as a support engineer and training instructor for Novell, SCO UNIX, Lotus Notes and Cisco technologies. Brett acted as the Technical Director for Com Tech's flagship technology showcase and later joined the iiNet Group as Network Manager where he was responsible for redesigning and redeploying the network. He also oversaw the deployment of iiNet's Bliink ADSL product. Brett is now CTO of L7.
Kevin Vinsen
Director of ILLIARC
Kevin is a director of ILLIARC, a WA-based independent software consultancy which specialises in programme risk mitigation, software project recovery, SOA, UML, BPMS, MDA, specialist development and large-scale architectural software consulting. ILLIARC is an independent software consultancy, and regional representative for the Object Management Group (OMG), based in Boston, USA. The founding directors are all members of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and actively involved with major Australian universities.
John Wiese
B.Sc, MPM, RegPM, Senior Project Manager - Thales Australia
Mr Wiese is a Senior Project Manager working for Thales Australia. He is responsible for a $30M+ project overseeing the development and integration of new technologies for the Australian Special Forces and wider Defence community. It is Mr Wiese's firm belief that people determine outcomes, and thus he focuses on building strong cohesive teams by training and mentoring staff.
